Mycelial Threads connects dancers in Cologne (DE) and Oulu (FI) in real time through digital technologies – inspired by the underground fungal mycelium that functions in nature as an organic communication system.

Just as mycelium transmits information, nutrients and impulses over long distances through fine threads, this hybrid performance weaves an artistic network across physical and digital spaces. Mycelial Threads explores how principles from nature – symbiosis, branching, feedback – can inspire the relationship between body and technology.

The performance tests new models of international collaboration beyond geographical borders – both ecologically sustainable and artistically innovative.
