Viannos: Late Voices is an immersive exploration of suppressed history, transgenerational trauma, and the ways in which the past continues to resonate in the present. It takes as its starting point the largely forgotten Nazi massacre of Viannos on Crete in 1943.

Digitally brought-to-life spaces and objects combine with documentary theatre and live singing to create an atmospheric space of remembrance that places the audience at its centre. Thrown into a Greek living room, spectators find the Cretan world gradually taking shape around them. They are immersed in real places and stories whose echoes can still be felt today – between wounds that are slow to heal and the imagining of a loving future.

Trigger Warning and Sensory Effects
Loud noises (gunshots) and periods of darkness. Explicit accounts of violence.
